On 7-20-19 Optimize the Vizion held its sixth event and it was absolutely amazing. We were honored to be able to visit the BB&T Atlanta Open, located in Atlantic Station in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. For this event, we had 6 of our Vizionaries in attendance witnessing one of Atlanta’s premier sporting events. Our day began approximately 9:30 AM. Upon our arrival we were received by Nick Thompson of BB&T Atlanta Open. Nick did a phenomenal job making us feel welcomed from the start. He ensured we entered the event without incident and lead us on a tour of the facilities.

Nick explained that this year the BB&T Atlanta Open developed a new format for the event’s activities and it was a sight to see! There was a grandstand court, the main court, practice court, ninja quest area, food trucks, vendors, a music stage and an area for kids to shoot basketball and kick soccer balls. All this provided along with a spectacular view of downtown Atlanta.

Once the tour concluded we allowed the Vizionaries to partake in the facilities’ activities. As we awaited the first match to begin, Mother Nature decided to provide some rain showers to the area which hampered play for a few hours. Once the rain began to dissipate all the Vizionaries, Chaperones and Volunteers were treated to lunch in Atlantic Station, courtesy of Optimize The Vizion. Once lunch was finished, Mr. Sun decides to reappear which allowed us to go back to event and get signed tennis balls from some of the pro tennis players as well as watch an entertaining, professional tennis match. We finished the day by providing our Vizionaries with a free bag of Symphony Chips which were provided to Optimize The Vizion as an in-kind donation from the Symphony Chips company.

Each Vizionary was picked up by their parent after the event and our day was concluded by 3 PM. Another great event in the books for Optimize The Vizion.

Our next event will be on Saturday August 3rdas we attend our second Atlanta Braves game of the summer. We look forward to another opportunity to visit Atlanta’s professional baseball team.
